Simply elegant
THE VINTAGE
In May 2017, a cold wind from Siberia swept through the Bordeaux vineyards when the vines had just budded out*. Only 30% of Château Taillefer’s vines were spared. But in our misfortune, it was the most beautiful plots that were preserved. After this frosty episode, the climate was favourable to the production of a wine full of elegance.
* It is said that the vines burst when the buds open to reveal the first leaves in spring.
THE TASTING
The wine is elegant. It offers a velvety tannic structure, fruity and floral aromas (wild strawberry, raspberry, rose), woody notes (licorice, cocoa bean, vanilla) and minerality.
« Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Taillefer has a slightly closed nose, revealing crushed black plums, blackberries and licorice with touches of garrigue and tree bark. The palate is medium-bodied with a firm frame and good mid-palate weight, finishing long and savory. »

For a good tasting, we recommend decanting the wine or opening the bottle 4 hours before the meal, and serving it « chambré », i.e. between 18 and 19° C.
Château Taillefer 2017 will go well with the great classics of a family Sunday: roast chicken, veal brochettes or roast beef. It will also be enjoyed with a selection of French charcuteries and cheeses.
