THE VINTAGE

2022 climate was marked by a rainy spring, followed by a dry summer and a heatwave. These dry, hot conditions at the end of the season produced grapes with a good tannic charge and freshness. A rigorous selection of berries enabled us to produce a wine with an elegant tannic structure and brilliant aromas.

THE TASTING

The wine is a gourmet delight. It offers a silky tannic structure, fruity and floral aromas (blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry, rose), woody notes (vanilla, almond, cocoa bean) and minerality.

« Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, sublte brightening on the rim. Delicate underlay of fresh cherry fruit, plums, orange zest, some cocoa. Juicy, rond and harmonious, sweet cherries, fine tannins, mineral, well lasting, very approachable. » Peter Moser- Falstaff : 93 / 100

For a good tasting, we recommend decanting the wine or opening the bottle 4 hours before the meal, and serving it « chambré », i.e. between 18 and 19° C.

Château Taillefer 2022 will go well with our south-western specialities, a beautiful entrecote or a grilled duck breast. It can also be enjoyed with well-ripened or strong-tasting cheeses.
