Tannic elegance
THE VINTAGE
2014 is a year marked by a rainy summer followed by a very nice off-season. The sunshine in September enabled us to bring each plot to good ripeness and to harvest serenely. A drastic selection of berries and bleedings* enabled us to produce a wine with an elegant tannic structure.
* Bleeding is a technique that consists of removing part of the juice in order to concentrate it.
THE TASTING
The wine is elegant. It offers a silky tannic structure, fruity and floral aromas (jammy wild strawberry, rose), woody notes (clove, fresh tobacco, pepper) and minerality.
« Edgy, crunchy fruit with real savour. The fruit just manages to dominate the tannins and there is a real life here. Godd, positive finish… »
JANCIS ROBINSON : 16,5/20
For a good tasting, we recommend decanting the wine or opening the bottle 4 hours before the meal, and serving it « chambré », i.e. between 18 and 19° C.
Château Taillefer 2014 will go well with white meat or firm-fleshed fish such as monkfish or Saint Pierre. It can also be enjoyed simply with a plancha aperitif.
